I developed a passion for animals an the outdoors at an early age. Photography was initially a tool to document my activities and research in zoology as I pursued my studies, completing a Master's and Ph.D. in Zoology/Parasitology. I took a hiatus from photography as I settled into a career of teaching in the small college environment. In the late 1980's I revived my interest in photography, focusing primarily on wildlife and nature and spent countless hours observing wildlife and waiting to capture the perfect moment. This passion took me to a variety of interesting locations including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, the Galapagos Islands, the Falkland Islands, Vietnam, Belize, Japan, New Zealand, Uruguay, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil and a variety of U.S. locations. Unfortunately many images were captured on film and I have not had the time to scan and upload them to this website.
In addition to wildlife I have included people and events in my photography.
I have published photos in a variety of places, teach classes and workshops and also lead trips.
